Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) for US-based projects. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV and lead site teams on multi-discipline projects.

This full-time role requires travel up to 75%. Comp up to $95/hour, with OT policies; signing bonus up to $10k; company vehicle; comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement, and strong career

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
