Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I for Store Development to manage new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out. Applicants may reside in NC, SC, or VA and must travel ~80% with a remote office day on Friday.

Responsibilities include bidding, contracts, schedules, budgeting, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely store openings and compliance with prototype standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs and engineering concepts.
• Ability to lead projects and coordinate with contractors, developers, vendors.
• Strong scheduling, planning, and budget oversight skills.
• Willingness to travel weekly.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC/CM and subcontractors.
• Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Develop and implement schedules, milestones, and budgets; monitor progress.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Ensure safety and quality compliance and coordinate store openings.
• Oversee project closeout, warranties, and punch lists.
