Newsandtribune seeks a Radiation Therapist for a hospital-based Therapeutic Radiology department. Requires VA licensure and ARRT, with 2+ years of experience and ability to deliver treatments per physician prescriptions.

Role involves simulation, treatment delivery, and patient education using Varian TrueBeam and EPIC EMR, with a 5x8 day shift and no weekends or on-call. Housing/travel support may be provided.

Qualifications

Active VA license or Temp VA license accepted with pending status; license required if applicable
Current BLS and ARRT certification required
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist required
Must be able to accurately interpret and deliver radiation treatments per physician prescription
Experience assisting with Brachytherapy procedures
Experience with treatment planning including tumor localization and dosimetry
Skilled in setting up IMRT and 3-D patients in CT simulation
Ability to fabricate immobilization devices for 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT patients

Responsibilities

Hospital-based Therapeutic Radiology department
5x8 day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
No weekend or on-call requirements
No floating requirements
Uses Varian TrueBeam and Philips Big Bore CT Scanner
Uses EPIC for electronic medical records
Provide daily care to cancer patients including simulation, treatment delivery, and patient education
Serve as liaison between physicians, nurses, dosimetrists, and physicists
Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to physician prescriptions and safety protocols
Monitor patients during treatment and document all pertinent clinical information
Maintain radiation safety measures for patients and staff
May provide clinical instruction for radiation therapy students
Scrub color required is Caribbean blue or coordinating solid colors per facility dress code
Candidates must reside outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
Local candidates are not accepted for this position
