Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 13-week acute care assignment in a hospital Radiation Oncology department in Rockford, IL.

The role requires ARRT and BLS certification, IEMA certification, and an Illinois license if applicable, with at least two years of experience. You will work 40 hours per week in a Monday–Friday day shift, collaborating with the radiation oncology team and using EPIC EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam, ARIA, MLC, HDR Brachytherapy and dosimetry preferred

Responsibilities

• Treat patients in an acute care hospital Radiation Oncology unit
• Work with adult and geriatric patients
• Days shift 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• Use EPIC for electronic medical records
• Administer radiation treatments per prescription
• Collaborate with oncologist, nurse, dosimetrist and physicist
• Monitor patient responses and follow safety guidelines
• Assist with dosimetry and tumor localization procedures
• Perform equipment checks and maintain records
• Provide patient teaching and advocate for patients
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction for standard rate eligibility

• IEMA certification required
• Illinois state license required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam, ARIA record and verify, multi-leaf collimator, HDR Brachytherapy, and dosimetry preferred
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in a Radiation Oncology unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Days shift, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 40 hours per week
• Uses EPIC for electronic medical records
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Administer radiation treatments per the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist
• Collaborate with radiation oncologist, radiation oncology nurse, medical dosimetrist, and physicist to coordinate patient care
• Observe patients for reactions and follow radiation safety guidelines
• Assist with dosimetry and tumor localization procedures
• Perform equipment checks and maintain appropriate records
• Participate in patient teaching and serve as patient advocate throughout treatment course
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction for standard rate eligibility
• COVID vaccination not required for this facility
