Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist for a teaching hospital's Radiation Oncology department in Kentucky. ARRT(T) certification and KY state license are required; BLS is also mandatory. Training and experience with CT simulation and planning systems are preferred.

Positions are day-shift, 36–40 hour weeks with travel-friendly options. Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate, with comprehensive benefits and licensure support.

Qualifications

• ARRT and ARRT(T) certification mandatory, BLS required.
• Minimum 1 year of radiation therapy experience, teaching hospital preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting is a plus.
• Familiarity with CT simulation, treatment site simulation, chart checks, and beam modification/positioning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation treatments per physician prescriptions in a teaching hospital setting.
• Perform daily QA and warm-up on treatment machines and ensure accurate documentation.
• Float within hospital or to affiliated facility as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols for patients and staff; manage positioning and protective measures.
• Utilize Siemens and TrueBeam units with ARIA and Eclipse for planning.
• Support adult outpatient treatment population on day shifts (7:30 AM–4:00 PM).
• Assist with block cutting, molds, and shields as required; transfer patients safely.
• Coordinate with team to meet staffing needs and time-off requests.

• ARRT and ARRT(T) certification required
• BLS certification required

• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skilled in CT simulation, treatment site simulation, chart check, and beam modifying/positioning
• Experience with block cutting, custom molds, and custom shields preferred
• Ability to perform lift/transfer of patients

Responsibilities

• Teaching hospital setting within Radiation Oncology
• Adult outpatient treatment population
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:30 AM-4:00 PM)
• 36 or 40 hour/week contract options available
• Call required approximately 1 week out of every 8-10 weeks depending on staffing needs
• Uses Siemens and TrueBeam treatment units with ARIA and Eclipse (Varian) planning systems
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Accurately and efficiently deliver radiation treatments per physician prescriptions
• Perform daily QA and warm-up on treatment machines
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily patient treatments
• Ensure safety protocols are followed for all patients and staff
• Radius restriction applies; candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to offer; requests made afterward will not be approved
• Open to first-time travelers with the required experience
