American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification and JRCERT-accredited education for a hospital Radiation Oncology department offering advanced treatment modalities.

The role provides 4x10 schedules (40 hours/week) with no weekends or on-call requirements, and UNC holiday coverage as needed. Elekta experience is preferred, and support for professional data entry, safety procedures, and patient care is emphasized.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiation Therapy certification is required.
• Graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program is required.
• Experience with low and high brachytherapy preferred.
• Knowledge of quality assurance procedures, radiation dosages, and equipment settings.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department responsibilities.
• Clinic operates 6:00a-6:00p with shifts varying within these hours.
• 4x10 schedule totaling 40 hours per week.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Elekta experience preferred.
• Administer radiation therapy per physician instructions and treatment plans.
• Enter data and adjust equipment to regulate radiation dosage.
• Assist physicians, oncologists, and physicists with treatment plan preparation.
• Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered.
• Maintain patient and billing records per department policy.
• Perform routine and complex treatments including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy.
• Use protective equipment and safety procedures for patients and staff.
• Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.
• Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
• Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed.
