Actalent in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform high-quality blood draws and specimen collection across multiple clinical sites. You will collect, process, and store specimens following established procedures while supporting lab operations.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work with pediatric through geriatric patients, and proficiency with Cerner or similar systems. Travel between sites is part of the floating team, with typical onsite hours.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED completion.
• At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy, including routine blood draws and venipuncture.
• Experience with pediatric through geriatric patient populations.
• Skill in specimen handling including labeling, storage, and processing.
• Ability to operate a centrifuge and manage specimens.

• Perform blood draws and other specimen collections in accordance with procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and collection processes to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Demonstrate proper technique using standard needles for a wide range of patients.
• Interpret and follow physician orders prior to collection and processing.
• Match requisition forms to specimens to ensure accuracy and proper patient identification.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Check all requisitions against the original order for 100% accuracy.
• Collect and store specimens following procedures to maintain integrity.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and transport per protocol.
• Package specimens for transport in compliance with regulations.
• Update patient and specimen records in the system.
• Troubleshoot issues in collection/processing and suggest workflow improvements.
• Support training for new staff to maintain standards of practice.
