Job summary

Shields Health Care is seeking a PET technologist to perform advanced PET/CT imaging, including brain imaging and radiotracer studies, with travel between Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital in Wells.

The role requires state licensure, ARRT/NMTCB registration, CPR certification, and at least one year of nuclear medicine experience. Excellent patient care and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Minimum of one year nuclear medicine experience.
• Proficient in starting IVs and assisting patients with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Follow NRC/state/JCAHO rules and regulations.
• Inform patients about exam details to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure radioisotopes.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities and ensure patient safety during exams.
• Position patients for comfort and maintain contact during the exam.
• Complete exam forms and data entry; forward PET data to Radiologist.
