Job summary

Shields Health Care Group, Inc. is seeking a PET technologist to join our nuclear medicine team. The role includes advanced PET/CT imaging, brain imaging research support, and travel between Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital in Wells to cover scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state in which employed.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be ARRT and/or NMTCB registered.
• Minimum one year nuclear medicine experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in starting IVs.
• Able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods.
• Able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced PET/CT imaging procedures, including brain imaging & neurologic research protocols.
• Utilize specialty PET radiotracers such as PSMA, Ga-68 NetSpot, and Illuccix.
• Travel between two locations as scheduled (Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital).
• Follow Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
• Perform hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Record patient data in Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
