Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Roanoke, VA, starting 01/19/2026 for 26 weeks with 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, travel employment status.

Requirements include active VA or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS, and Epic EMR experience. Excellent benefits begin Day 1, with per diem and travel reimbursements available. This is a travel nursing role with flexible start dates.

Qualifications

• Current RN license (VA or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit or telemetry
• Two professional references needed for consideration

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting
• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios with target 1:4 to 1:5 as per acuity
• Complete charting and documentation in Epic EMR
• Monitor patient conditions and escalation as needed during night shifts
• Travel assignments may vary; flexibility in start dates and lengths (14–26 weeks)
• Float across units based on facility needs and patient acuity
