Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Dayton, Ohio. The selected RN will work 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week, on a 13-week assignment, in a fast-paced PCU setting requiring acute care experience.

Responsibilities include bedside care, patient monitoring, medication administration, catheter insertion, and use of monitoring equipment. ACLS/BLS are required, with NIH certification and 2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH certification may be needed; 2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care for PCU patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust patient monitoring equipment and interpret displays.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring data and patient needs.
