Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia. This PCU RN will manage patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, often stepping down from ICU care.

The position requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS/BLS/NIH certifications, and is offered as a travel assignment with 12-hour shifts and a 48-hour work week. Benefits include weekly pay and guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS or related certifications preferred.
• 1 year of acute care experience required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications with monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret electronic monitoring displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring indicates adverse symptoms.
• Maintain mobility and safe patient handling including lifting up to 50 pounds.
