Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia. This 16-week assignment requires 48 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts.

The PCU role focuses on close monitoring of patients who are not ICU-level but require frequent assessments and cardiac monitoring. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and NIH certification if required.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required; NIH certs may be required before starting an assignment.
• 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred.
• PCU/Step-down experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret monitoring equipment and adjust care as needed.
• Respond quickly to deteriorations and initiate corrective actions.
