Job summary

TotalMed RN in Terre Haute, Indiana is seeking a Progressive Care Unit travel nurse (PCU RN) for a 13-week assignment. The role is a 36-hour workweek with 12-hour night shifts, in a hospital setting, focusing on stepdown patient care.

Candidates should have 1 year of acute care experience and hold ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. The PCU nurse monitors patients closely, administers meds, and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe transitions.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
• 1 year of acute care experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Care for PCU patients requiring close monitoring and assessment
• Stabilize critical cardiac patients, change dressings, start IVs as needed
• Monitor and adjust monitoring equipment; interpret data and report changes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and support staff to ensure safe patient care
