Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a PCU travel nurse for an immediate 12-week assignment in Lafayette, IN. The role covers 48 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts in the Progressive Care Unit, caring for patients needing close monitoring but not ICU-level care.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. The position includes a tax-free stipend and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions
• Monitor and adjust equipment and interpret electronic displays
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring shows adverse symptoms
