Job summary

Rodeo Dental in Fort Worth seeks a Travel Ortho Registered Dental Assistant to support orthodontic treatment, patient education on elastic wear, and precision in tray setup, X‑ray tasks, and impression materials.

The role involves bonding, banding, bracket setup, debonding, making retainers, and proactive chairside collaboration with the orthodontist to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability is preferred (Spanish) in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist in treating patients.
• Instruct patients on elastic treatment.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and planned procedures.
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach to chart.
• Mix amalgam, cement, and prepare impression materials.
• Pour, trim, and polish impression trays.
• Assist with bonding, banding, adjusting and debonding orthodontic patients.
• Place and cement bands.
• Set up brackets and remove excess cement from brackets and bands.
• Make retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions.
• Provide excellent chairside assistance and anticipate next steps with doctor.
• Take patient initial, progress and de-bond photos.
• Take scans for clear aligners or models.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
• Instruct patient of elastic treatment
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
• Taking patient initial, progress, and de-bond photos
• Taking scans of patients for clear aligners or models

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
