Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking an orthodontic dental assistant to support orthodontists across multiple Colorado locations. The role involves chairside assistance, taking X-rays, and preparing materials for a variety of orthodontic procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a DA certificate, orthodontic experience, and prefer bilingual Spanish. Travel to CO offices is required, with opportunities for growth within the practice group.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic DA certification required.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Willing to support multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist in treating patients.
• Instruct patients on elastic treatment.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and procedures.
• Take diagnostic quality X-rays and attach to patient chart.
• Mix amalgam, cement, and prepare impression materials.
• Pour, trim, and polish impression trays.
• Assist with bonding, banding, adjustments, and debonding orthodontic patients.
• Place and cement bands; setup brackets; remove excess cement.
• Make retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions.
• Provide excellent chairside assistance and anticipate next steps with the doctor.
• Take patient initial, progress, and debond photos.
• Take scans for clear aligners or models.
• Travel to CO locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
• Instruct patient of elastic treatment
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
• Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
• Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
• Placing and cementing bands
• Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
• Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
• Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
• Taking patient initial, progress, and de-bond photos
• Taking scans of patients for clear aligners or models
• Travel to our CO locations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
