Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse OR - Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment in Murrieta, California. The position requires 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts as a travel nurse, with immediate start for OR circulating/scrub roles or RN first assistant duties.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse or scrub nurse and relevant OR certifications (ACLS/BLS).

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 5 years of OR experience recommended.
• Experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN First Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care.
• Assist with instrument handling and intraoperative duties as circulating/scrub nurse or RN First Assistant.
