Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Bishop, California. The role requires 40 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts and travel status.

As an OR nurse, you will assist surgeons, work as circulating or scrub nurse (or RN first assistant), and deliver pre- and post-operative care and education. You may prepare instruments, monitor patients, and respond to intraoperative events.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of acute care OR experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required; additional certifications may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients and families.
• Circulating OR Nurses work outside the sterile field; Scrub OR Nurses handle instruments in the sterile field.
• RN First Assistant duties may include direct surgical care and assisting with bleeding control.
