Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Glendale, Arizona for a 13-week assignment. The position requires 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse with BLS/ACLS/PALS and implies travel responsibilities.

Shifts are 10 hours, days, with 40 hours per week, and a tax-free stipend may be provided. The role involves assisting physicians, managing intraoperative care, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience as a circulating nurse or scrub nurse.
• RN with OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and the OR team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan for post-op care.
• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Monitor equipment used during surgery and handle specimens.
• Inventory of surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
• Assist with instrument handling and maintaining sterile field.
• Support bleeding control and wound closure as needed.
