Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Glendale, AZ for a 13-week assignment. The RN will support physicians and surgical teams, with duties spanning pre- and post-surgery care, perioperative responsibilities, and patient education.

40 hours per week on day shifts, 10-hour shifts. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurses, and possibly RN first assistant, with BLS/ACLS/PALS and other certs as required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, 2+ years experience or certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ family and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan for home care after surgery.
