Opportunity:

RN - Trauma Nurse

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts with every other weekend rotation and some holiday coverage required
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day shifts are required
• Option to work 4x12 schedule available if interested
• Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced 24-bed ICU
• Provide care to critically ill surgical, medical, and trauma patients in a Level One Trauma Center
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Wisconsin RN or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Required skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, central line care and management, PICC line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ICP monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, interpretation of ABGs, IV insulin protocols, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, ECMO, and continuous dialysis

This facility is a Magnet-designated academic medical center and Level One Trauma Center ranked as the number one hospital in Wisconsin and recognized as one of the nation's leading hospitals, teaching institutions, and referral centers. The ICU team was honored with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Gold Level Beacon Award in 2024, the highest honor a critical care unit can achieve. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries. Patient diagnoses treated include ARDS, ECMO, post-code care, sepsis, GI bleeds, post-op management, liver transplant, vascular surgery, and trauma.
