Job summary

Opportunity

RN - Med Surg/Tele - FLOAT

Job Details

• Evening and night shifts, 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM and 7:30 AM
• Will accept 4x12 schedules
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Holidays as applicable to operations
• Float across multiple Med/Surg units including cardiac, spine, and neuro; required to float to Neuro and Oncology (hard stop)
• Patient ratios: 4:1 days, 5:1 nights and weekends
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care utilizing critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients, recognize and upscale complications, and administer appropriate nursing interventions
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, advanced practice providers, and medical teams
• Skills required include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Must have Basic Arrhythmia experience
• Telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% or higher); two attempts allowed
• Adult Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole) and no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions
• Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience in the specialty within the last 3 years required
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Wisconsin RN or compact license
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
