Job summary

Alliance Services, Inc. seeks a Travel Nurse RN for Critical Care Float in Madison, Wisconsin. This travel role requires ICU/ACU expertise, acute care experience within the last 3 years, and WI or compact RN licensure. Expect 4x12 schedules, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shifts, with weekends and holidays to cover.

The facility is a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma Center with broad ICU coverage and strong interdisciplinary support. Epic charting and Telemetry proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5 years ICU/acute care experience; must have recent ICU experience in the last 3 years.
• Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Travel experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care across Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma, MSICU, and IMC/Progressive units.
• Manage high-acuity patients with complex devices and multisystem needs.
• Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.

Opportunity

RN - ICU/CCU - FLOAT

Job Details

• Evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 8 or 12-hour shift options available
• 4x12 scheduling available for interested candidates
• Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
• 6-7 weekend shifts per contract
• Block scheduling likely available to accommodate preferences
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for both day and night shifts
• Float required across multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, CV/CT ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma, MSICU, and IMC/Progressive unit
• 28 orientation hours provided
• Serves adult and geriatric patient populations
• 5 years of experience required with minimum 2 years of acute care experience in specialty within the last 3 years
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• ICU experience with adult populations required; IMC/Progressive/General care population experience needed
• Must be competent in multiple ICU specialties including experience with high-acuity populations and advanced devices
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Basic arrhythmia experience required; must pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start
• Telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts with a passing score of 80% or higher, with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required
• Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only); NIHSS and TNCC preferred
• Key skills required include arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVVHD/CRRT, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility not accepted
