Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment in West Virginia. Requires 2+ years of experience and ARRT or NMTCB certification, plus NMTCB-NCT verification and BLS.

The role includes performing cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies with 12–15 scans per day, using EPIC/Meditech Expanse EMR and AGFA IMPAX PACS. Shift is Monday–Friday, with rotating weekend call and travel benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
• Certification ARRT or NMTCB required.
• NMTCB-NCT verification required.
• BLS certification required.
• WV state licensure if applicable.
• Must have IV start and EKG skills.
• Unexpired driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine studies including cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies.
• Complete 12–15 scans per day in an acute care setting.
• Utilize EPIC and Meditech Expanse EMR with AGFA IMPAX PACS.
• Operate Siemens E-cam and Philips Brightview systems.
• Work Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with rotating weekend call.
• Respond to call responsibilities one day per week; no self-scheduling.
• Travel assignment with housing and licensure support.

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years experience and ARRT or NMTCB certification.

Requirements

• ARRT or NMTCB certification required
• Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) verification required
• BLS certification required
• WV State Licensure required if applicable
• Must have IV start and EKG skills
• Unexpired driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care Nuclear Medicine department with 4 scanning rooms
• Performs cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies
• Average of 12-15 scans/studies per day
• Uses EPIC and Meditech Expanse EMR along with AGFA IMPAX PACS
• Department equipment includes 2 Siemens E-cam and 2 Philips Brightview systems
• Monday-Friday day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 8-hour shifts
• Rotating weekend call every 4th weekend (Friday 4:30pm-7am, Saturday and Sunday 24 hours)
• Call required one day per week when not on weekend call rotation
• No self-scheduling available
• No floating to other departments required
• Perform diagnostic imaging studies including cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung, thyroid uptake, and tilt studies
• Must be able to start IVs as part of job duties
• Radiologist is in-house to support the department
• Works under a Lead Tech rather than a Radiology Supervisor
• Department-specific orientation provided
• Scrubs are not provided; black scrubs required with no embroidery, t-shirts, or Crocs with holes/backless design
• Radiation badge will be provided to traveler by the agency, not the facility
• No holiday coverage requirements at this time
• Local candidates accepted only if outside radius rules; 100-mile radius for Princeton Community Hospital and 50 miles for all other WVU facilities applies, with no local travelers accepted within these distances
• Returning travelers must have taken a 2-year break if previously employed at any WVU Medicine location
• Travelers cannot work within WVU system for longer than one year cumulatively without a 2-year break
