American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 5x8 day shift assignment in Georgia. The patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, with procedures including SPECT imaging and various organ studies.

ARRT NM or NMTCB certification and BLS are required, along with a professional license if applicable. The role uses Epic, Pyxis, and PACS systems and may involve call coverage and occasional travel to other Piedmont campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Hospital and clinic-based nuclear medicine department
  • Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Procedures include HIDA scans, bone scans, lymphoscintigraphy, gastric emptying studies, brain death studies, myocardial perfusion SPECT, I-123 scan/uptake, I-131 whole body scans, I-131 ablations (<30 mCi), renal scans with or without Lasix, and parathyroid scans
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and PACS systems
  • Monday through Friday day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Possible floating to another Piedmont campus for STAT inpatient coverage
  • Possible call required Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and weekends 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, approximately 1-2 weekdays per week and every fourth weekend
  • Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures across cardiac, renal, hepatobiliary, skeletal, and neurological systems
  • Scrub colors limited to black, gray, or purple
  • Expected to work assigned holidays based on the number of major holidays falling within the contract period (up to 2 of 3 major holidays)
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Returning Piedmont employees or travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler

Requirements
  • ARRT (NM) or NMTCB certification and BLS required
  • Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine experience
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Experience with SPECT imaging, bone/brain/liver/renal scans, thyroid studies, cancer surveys, I-123 uptake scans, and myocardial perfusion studies
  • Proficiency with adenosine, Persantine, and pharmacological stress testing procedures
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs
  • Professional license required if applicable
  • Experience with adult and pediatric patient populations
  • First-time travelers accepted
