Job summary

American Traveler in Alabama is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a hospital-based travel assignment requiring ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification and prior travel experience. The role focuses on adult patients in a hospital setting with day shifts and occasional weekends.

Responsibilities include performing nuclear medicine imaging across cardiac, bone, brain, liver, renal, and thyroid studies, using GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens or Toshiba systems.

Qualifications

• ARRT/NMTCB certification required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Licensure as applicable.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Experience with venous blood draws and IV starts.
• Familiarity with radiation safety and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work in hospital Nuclear Medicine department with adult patients.
• Perform range of imaging procedures (cardiac, bone, brain, liver, renal, thyroid).
• Possibly conduct SPECT and other studies; PPE and radiation safety emphasized.
• Shift pattern includes day shifts; weekends as needed.
• Operate with various vendors' equipment (GE/Hitachi/Philips/Siemens/Toshiba).

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a hospital-based position requiring ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Prior travel experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• ACLS, ARRT (R), NCT, NMTCB, and PET certifications preferred
• Skilled in venous blood draws, IV starts and maintenance, and handling/storing radioactive materials
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

Responsibilities

• Nuclear Medicine department in a hospital setting
• Adult patient population
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:0 AM to 4:00 pM
• Weekend shifts as needed
• Nuclear cardiology and SPECT procedures preferred, including bone, brain, liver, renal, and thyroid studies
• Additional procedures may include MUGA scans, PET scans, HIDA scans, and gastric emptying studies
• Experience with GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, or Toshiba equipment preferred
• Perform a range of nuclear medicine imaging procedures including cardiac, bone, brain, liver, renal, and thyroid studies
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Prior perm employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 7 days
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates with a pending license may be considered
