Job summary

Oak Street Health in the Houston area is seeking a Medical Scribe to support clinical documentation across six locations. The role involves observing patient visits, documenting encounters, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, and preparing After Visit Summaries.

Scribes will gain expertise in value-based care, chronic condition documentation, and population health data. This is an excellent paid opportunity for pre-med or health informatics tracks, with on-the-job training and a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows.
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters and assign CPT/ICD-10 codes.
• Support clinical documentation improvement and after-visit summaries.
• Provide administrative support to the care team and coordinate referrals.
• Travel to all six centers in the Houston market.
• Other duties as assigned.
