Job summary

Oak Street Health in the United States seeks a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with clinical documentation, observe patient encounters, and document in real time to help close care gaps. Scribes become Clinic Informatics Specialists, trained in value-based care, chronic condition documentation, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and population health data workflows.

This full-time role requires 1–2 years in clinical settings, with opportunities for pre-med tracks and advancing in health

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications [required]
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering [strongly preferred]
• Prior scribe or transcription experience [preferred but not required]

Responsibilities

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%: observe visits, structured notes, CPT/ICD-10 coding, after-visit summaries
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%: review records, support population health workflows
• Administrative support for the provider and care team ~ 10%: placing orders/referrals, other tasks
• Other duties as assigned
