Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under provider supervision. You will prepare exam rooms, document vitals and history, screen medications, and assist with back-office testing and procedures.

Scribing may be required with training, and follow-up communication with patients will be conducted per provider directives. Minimum education includes High School/GED or MA program completion; certification within 120 days if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Certification training/testing within 30 days and certification within 120 days of hire
• Preferred: Associate's Degree

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients; obtains vital signs and patient history; screens medication and tobacco use.
• Performs back office testing and assists providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Communicates test results and follow ups with patients per provider instructions.
