Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision, room and prepare patients, obtain vital signs, and assist with exams and procedures.

The role includes documenting in the EHR, reviewing medication lists, and contributing to wellness screenings in a busy clinical setting. A Medical Assistant program certificate or equivalent is required, with CPR certification expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program Certification Requirements.
• Preferred Associate's Degree
• CPR – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating examination, treatment and health care planning for patients under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized workflows.
• Accurately obtains patient vital signs and documents patient information and history.
• Completes annual wellness visit screenings and reviews medication lists in the EHR.
• Administers and documents medications in accordance with policy and safe practice.
• Maintains sterile processing and inventory of medical supplies.
• May float/travel between physician office locations as needed.
