American Traveler is hiring a Travel LPN for a Surgical Stepdown unit in Missouri. Requires 1+ year of acute care stepdown experience and current LPN licensure. Day shift 07:00-19:30 with weekend coverage and potential float to similar units.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license meeting Missouri licensure eligibility (license required if applicable).
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• IV certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown experience in an acute care hospital.
• Proof of flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgical Stepdown unit, a 29-bed unit at a Level 2 Trauma Center.
• Patient population includes post-op (high and lower acuity surgical), trauma, and high-acuity medical patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Day shift schedule, 07:00-19:30.
• Weekend coverage required as scheduled, typically every other weekend.
• May be required to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
• No call requirements.
• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups.
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort.
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards.
• Black scrub color required, with attire conforming to facility dress code standards.
• RTO of 5 days or less permitted, must be made up during the assignment.
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment.
• Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility.
• Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center

Requirements

• Current LPN license meeting Missouri licensure eligibility (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• IV certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Stepdown experience in an acute care hospital

• Ability to stand and walk for most of shift, with frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
