Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an LPN/LVN for a home health role in Florida. The position requires IV certification, OASIS training, and active Florida or Compact license, with private duty/home health experience preferred.

The role involves 6-8 visits daily, day shifts with flexible weekend coverage, and traveling to patient homes using a laptop and portable printer. Eligible candidates must meet vaccination requirements and hold BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Active Florida or Compact LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• IV certification required, no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home care experience; private duty nursing experience alone not accepted
• Home health experience with OASIS training required
• IV skills and wound care experience required
• Experience with general medical diagnoses and high-risk conditions (HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, stroke)
• Post-op care experience required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for home visits
• Proof of COVID vaccination or exemption form required
• Proof of flu vaccination or declination required, with mandatory mask wearing if declined
• Cerner experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Home Health setting serving skilled home care patients under Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance
• Performs 6-8 home skilled visits per day
• Day shift schedule with hours varying, including Mon-Fri 8a-5p or 9a-6p and alternating weekend shifts
• Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on office needs
• Uses laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printers in the field
• Documents using BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet system
• Provide cardiopulmonary assessment, basic wound care, and related procedures
• Adhere to vaccination requirements and travel eligibility rules

• Documents using BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet system
• Responsibilities include cardiopulmonary assessment, basic wound care, ABI compression dressing, wound vac dressing, Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter change and care, staple/suture removal, glucometer use, pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, lab draw venipuncture, PICC line or midline care and dressing changes, and SQ port access/deaccess
• Required to wear any solid color scrubs
• Required to wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler if previously a permanent employee at the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• RTO requests are not accommodated in this travel contract
