American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a fast-paced Cardiac/Cardiac IR department. Requires 2+ years IR experience; NIR experience strongly preferred. ARRT-R and BLS are required; ACLS preferred. MD license if applicable. Teaching hospital/Trauma Level I experience is a plus. On-call and travel accommodations apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform IR procedures in a high-volume 5-room unit with rapid case turnover.
• Intervene in angioplasty, embolization, stent placements and hepatic procedures.
• Assist neurological procedures and manage sterile field; float as needed.
• Participate in on-call coverage, weekends, holidays and travel adjustments.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a fast-paced Cardiac/Cardiac IR department, requiring 2+ years of IR experience with neuro IR (NIR) experience strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required; NIR experience strongly preferred
• Will consider first-time travelers with strong IR experience including neuro
• ARRT-R and BLS required; ACLS preferred
• MD state license required if applicable
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in venous access, central line care, and vascular closure systems
• Experience with abdominal, pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, and neurological IR procedures preferred
• Proficient with fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound equipment; Philips and Siemens systems preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE use, and rapid response/code team protocols

Responsibilities

• Interventional Radiology unit with 5 procedure rooms
• High volume, fast-paced department averaging 18 cases
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• 4x10 hour rotating day shifts, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM or 9:00 AM-7:30 PM
• On-call required approximately 5 shifts per 8-week schedule, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Weekend coverage required inclusive of on-call and holiday scheduling
• Floating required within the specialty as needed based on department needs
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Responsibilities include room circulation, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, equipment setup, and prepping access sites
• Perform procedures such as angioplasty, embolization, stent placements, IVC filter placement/removal, liver biopsy, and TIPS
• Assist with neurological procedures including carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy when applicable
• Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local travel rate
