Job description

Provides temporary nursing facility leadership and support

Administers the nursing program in a long-term care facility to maintain standards of resident care. Facilitates the optimization of the geriatric care process to improve the quality and efficiency of service. Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the organization's nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators on nursing service strategies. Requires frequent travel to facilities. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Monitors nursing staff operations and ensures compliance with regulations and standards. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews. Provides nursing care to residents as needed. Assists in developing and implementing marketing activities, including community events, special events, and media outreach.

Overall responsibilities include: day-to-day operations of the long-term care facility, quality of resident care, program and care management, environmental safety, budget management, and regulatory compliance. Delegates and coordinates clinical, operational, and managerial activities to meet departmental objectives. Leads development and execution of clinical programs, policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring system integration and adherence. Maintains communication across the healthcare system to address evolving clinical service needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
  • For Rural Health Network and GSS locations: consideration for an educational plan towards a Bachelor's degree within five years of hire; or work experience and qualifications equivalency based on facility size, rural setting, and business needs.
  • Minimum of five years nursing experience required. Experience with Housing with Services, HUD, or assisted living is helpful.
  • Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act, standards of nursing care, and management techniques.
  • Current unencumbered RN license in the state or multistate licensure if in an NLC state. Maintains required competencies and certifications.
