American Traveler is hiring an EKG Technologist / Monitor Tech to support a new acute care remote patient monitoring department. Requires 2+ years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Role includes day shifts (3x12), every third weekend, and potential travel among five hospital locations while ensuring dysrhythmia competency and vaccine requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Proficient in rhythm interpretation including blocks, AF, asystole and PVCs.
• Experience maintaining rhythm strips and documentation in patient charts.
• Ability to interpret AI-enabled biometric alerts and escalate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Tech position supporting a new acute care remote patient monitoring department.
• Reviews AI-enabled biometric alerts and escalates signs of patient deterioration to bedside teams.
• Day shift, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Every third weekend required.
• Will accept 36 or 48 hour schedules.
• Centralized telemetry monitoring and on-unit telemetry monitoring settings.
• Uses GE monitoring systems.
• May float among five designated hospital locations based on staffing needs.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam during orientation for multiple units.

American Traveler is hiring an EKG Technologist / Monitor Tech to support a new acute care remote patient monitoring department, requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Telemetry certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Proficient in rhythm interpretation including heart blocks, atrial fibrillation, asystole, ventricular arrhythmias, pacemaker rhythms, and PVCs
• Skilled in measuring cardiac intervals and rate
• Experience communicating rhythm variances to nursing and physician staff
• Experience maintaining rhythm strips and documentation in patient charts
• Experience troubleshooting alarms and placing/transferring patients in cardiac monitoring systems
• Cardiac arrest/CPR skills preferred

• L&D candidates must be willing to float to the High-Risk Obstetric Unit
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with no exemptions
• Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit
• Pre-employment labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests made afterward will not be accepted
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• Candidates living within 50 miles of their primary facility are subject to the local rate
