Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with EPIC charting experience and prior travel assignment history for a day shift position. The role includes 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and four weekend shifts every six weeks, with potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses.

The incumbent will monitor cardiac patients, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage central/line access, while adhering to a no-call policy and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1.5 years telemetry experience.
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and access lines required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• At least 2 supervisory references required.
• COVID vaccination and flu vaccination required (exemptions only).

Responsibilities

• Work in Telemetry unit supporting cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical telemetry patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with day shift 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Include 4 weekend shifts across a 6-week period; potential float between campuses.
• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IV access.
• EPIC EMR experience required; strict no-call policy.

• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and accessing/managing ports required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references required
• COVID vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit, supporting cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
• Potential to float between Edgewood and Florence campuses and to Observation, Med-Surg, and MS/Tele units as needed
• Supports ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds, floating to observation units when boarder volume is low
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Strict no-call policy in place
• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as part of daily care
• Deliver care for CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and other neurological/psychiatric patients as needed
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IV access as part of patient care
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
• No nose rings or gauged earrings; natural fingernails required with polish allowed, nails under 1/4 inch
• No on-site cafeteria, though refrigerator and microwave are available
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted; holiday coverage expected
• Previous full-time, part-time, or per diem employees must be separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers completing a prior assignment must have a 90-day system break before returning
• Candidates who have applied for or is in process for a permanent role within the past 6 months are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
