Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Echo Technologist for a hospital cardiology department. Candidates must have RDCS, RCS or RVT certification and at least two years of cardiovascular ultrasound experience.

The role includes day shift Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and on-call coverage to support 24/7 echocardiography services. The position emphasizes non-invasive cardiology procedures and requires adherence to ACC and ASE guidelines for imaging and documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms, cardiac Doppler and color flow mapping for patients of all ages.
• Cardiology general unit procedures, mostly adult echo with occasional pediatric telemedicine cases.
• Average 6–8 echocardiograms per day; 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Rotating weekend coverage every 5th week; on-call one week every 5th week for 24/7 services.

Requirements

• RDCS (ARDMS), RCS (CCI), or RVS certification required; RVS candidates must have at least 2 years of echo experience
• Current BLS certification via AHA required
• Minimum 2 years experience in cardiovascular ultrasound and non-invasive procedures
• Educational training in non-invasive cardiology; basic and advanced arrhythmia training preferred
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Cardiology General unit performing non-invasive cardiovascular procedures
• Primarily adult echo patients with occasional pediatric telemed cases
• Average of 6-8 echocardiograms performed per day
• Monday-Friday day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Rotating weekend coverage every 5th week
• On-call coverage required one week every 5th week to support 24/7 echocardiography services
• Performs echocardiograms, cardiac Doppler, and color flow mapping for outpatients and inpatients of all ages
• Utilizes sonicated contrast per ACC and ASE guidelines
• Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms and performs stress echocardiograms in all modalities
• Performs and transmits pediatric echocardiograms as needed
• Completes documentation, charges, and preliminary echo reports within the reporting system
• Maintains infection control procedures including equipment disinfection and TEE probe high-level disinfection
• May fulfill the role of Cardiovascular Tech when necessary
• Scrub color required is galaxy blue or royal blue
• Temp-to-perm opportunity is a possibility
• Returning CHRISTUS employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
