American Traveler is seeking a Registered Echocardiogram Technician for a Cardiology department in Louisiana. Neonatal/neonatology echocardiography experience and a relevant cardiac sonography registration are required.

The position involves 5–8 echocardiograms per day, a day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and a 13-week assignment with weekend and on-call duties as staffing needs dictate. Travel and licensure reimbursements are included.

• Registration requirements: AE RDCS by ARDMS, RCS by CCI, or VS by ARRT.
• BLS certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiogram or cardiovascular sonography program.
• License required if applicable.

Responsabilidades

• Support Cardiology General department across OR, inpatient, outpatient, and cath lab.
• Perform 5–8 echocardiograms per day, averaging 5 scans daily.
• Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; weekend call every 3–4 weeks.
• On-call one week every 3–4 weeks; 13-week assignment.
• Conduct TTEs, stress echocardiograms, and other cardiac ultrasound studies.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and clinical teams to provide timely diagnostic support.
• Ensure proper documentation and labeling per standards and protocols.

Requirements

• One of the following registrations required: Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS, Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI, or Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT
• License required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiogram, cardiovascular sonography, or equivalent program
• 1-3 years of echocardiography experience preferred
• Neonatal/neonatology echocardiography experience required

Responsibilities

• Cardiology General department supporting OR, inpatient, outpatient, and cath lab
• 5-8 echocardiogram cases per day, averaging 5 scans daily
• No floating required outside of supported areas
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Weekend call required approximately every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing needs
• On-call requirement of one week approximately every 3-4 weeks depending on staffing needs
• 13-week assignment
• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and other cardiac ultrasound procedures per physician orders
• Apply knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to obtain diagnostic-quality images
• Collaborate with cardiologists and clinical teams to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic support
• Ensure proper documentation and labeling of studies in accordance with departmental and accreditation standards
• Work independently on assignments of limited to moderate complexity with general guidance
• Elevate complex or unusual cases to senior technicians or management for review
• Adhere to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements including IAC and ASE
• Participate in routine equipment maintenance and quality control procedures
• Communicate effectively with referring providers to clarify orders and ensure appropriate study selection
• May assist with patient education regarding procedures and preparation
• Hospital-laundered scrubs required for OR; navy or black scrubs acceptable otherwise
• Returning CHRISTUS employees must be separated for 6 months prior to being eligible for a travel assignment across the CHRISTUS Health System
