Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in Maywood, NJ is seeking a Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic to service a broad fleet across the U.S. This hands-on role requires extensive diesel and automotive experience, frequent travel, and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose problems, document repairs, and meet safety standards while collaborating with Fleet Managers. Travel up to 100% is expected, with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ hands-on diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to own and maintain personal tools and toolbox.
• Work well independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to meet physical demands of the role.
• DOT physical clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Inspect vehicles to meet safety and compliance standards.
• Document repairs and complete work orders accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with Fleet Managers and peers to support operations.
• Non-travel weeks may involve building Mobile Service Center trucks and other projects.
• Travel up to 100% and coordinate with managers as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
