Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with multimodality CT and X-ray experience for a pediatric academic medical center setting.

This role requires ARRT certification, BLS, state license if applicable, and EPIC charting experience. 1–2 years of CT/X-ray experience and pediatric care exposure are preferred. Day shift 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with potential for additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year CT/X-ray experience; 2 years preferred.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT Advanced certification required; Advanced cert preferred.
• BLS certification required; VA or compact state license if applicable.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Experience in pediatric acute care, adult acute care, ED, and transplant-related imaging.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT and X-ray in a pediatric acute care Level I Trauma hospital.
• Perform abdomen/pelvis CT with/without contrast, chest, head and neck, spine.
• May perform brain perfusion, CT colonography, arthrography, transplant studies.
• Use PACS; work with Siemens equipment; float as needed.
• 3x12 hour day shift from 7:00 to 19:30; follow facility policies.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• ARRT (R) and ARRT Advanced certification required, with Advanced cert preferred
• BLS certification required
• VA or compact state license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience in adult acute care, adult outpatient, emergency department, and pediatric acute care settings
• Experience with peripheral IV starts and contrast media preparation/administration preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 2 professional references required

Responsibilities

• CT Tech unit in a pediatric acute care and Level I Trauma hospital setting
• Multimodality role covering both CT and X-ray
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Performs abdomen and pelvis CT with and without contrast, chest, head and neck, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging
• Special procedures may include brain perfusion, CT colonography, CT arthrography, and transplant studies
• Uses PACS and Siemens equipment
• May float within scope as needed
• Facility follows a natural nail policy
• Smoke and tobacco free workplace
• ER and Psych candidates must undergo fingerprinting per Virginia code 37.1-183.3, with results taking 15-20 business days; candidates cannot start with results pending
• Orientation includes non-billable modules averaging 6 hours, to be completed by the Friday of orientation week
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Returning travelers and former VCU Health employees must have a 12-month gap in employment before being eligible to return
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and are subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
