Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist in Morristown, NJ for a night PM shift, performing CT scans and patient care in a busy radiology department.

Requirements include ARRT CT certification, NJ licensure, BLS/CPR, radiography training, venipuncture, and strong patient assessment. Epic EMR is used for charting.

Qualifications

• ARRT RT (R) and ARRT RT (CT) certification required.
• Active New Jersey State X-Ray License required (license required if applicable).
• BLS and CPR certification required; HS diploma/GED required.
• Completion of Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited School of Radiography/College program required.
• CT registration preferred.
• Venipuncture skills required.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, emergency response, and screening for allergies/medications.

Responsibilities

• Radiology department performing CT scanning procedures.
• PM shift, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Wednesday through Saturday.
• 39 hours per week across 3 shifts of 13 hours each.
• Includes call and holiday coverage requirements.
• May float to other Morristown locations and a sister hospital nearby.
• Assigned to CT rooms 1, 2, and 3.
• Epic EMR used for charting.
• Obtain and prepare necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocol while maintaining sterility.
• Communicate with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Verify patient identification and observe patient condition before/after contrast injections, reporting changes to nursing staff and radiologists.
• Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
• Participate in daily inventory, stocking, and cleaning of CT equipment and work areas.
• May be assigned as Point staff to triage procedures, coordinate emergency/unscheduled requests, and ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist with routine procedures, contrast tolerance assessments, and allergy/medication screening.
• Maintain QA/QC requirements per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
• Follow established protocols for Code Grey, Trauma, and Partial Trauma cases, ensuring immediate image acquisition, processing, and radiologist notification.
• Adheres to HIPAA regulations and hospital identification policies.
• Local candidates accepted.
