Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a 13-week night assignment with ARRT registration and BLS certification. The position is hospital-based, uses Cerner EMR, and offers 40 hours per week on a 4x10 schedule (night shifts).

Requirements include SC or compact license if applicable, 50+ miles distance from the facility, and one year of radiologic tech experience preferred. Travel to a sister hospital may be needed.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; CT ARRT preferred.
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Active SC or compact license required if applicable.
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
• Must live 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based CT Scan unit.
• Night shift schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM.
• 40 hours per week, 4x10 hour shifts.
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting.
• May be required to take call and work weekends/holidays based on department needs.
• Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby.
• Performs CT scans following established protocols under radiologist supervision to support diagnosis of patient disease or injury.
• Supervises and assists in clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists.
• Instructs and prepares patients for imaging procedures and assists with informed consent.
• Ensures accurate order entry, diagnosis, and clinical history documentation.
• Communicates with radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions.
• Adheres to radiation safety practices in accordance with ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines.
• Assists other imaging team members and demonstrates flexibility as a team player.
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before returning.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position.
