Job summary

Amex GBT in Fort Liberty, North Carolina, seeks a Travel Consultant to deliver exceptional service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after trips.

You will arrange bookings for air, rail, and hotels, act as a trusted advisor, and ensure reservations align with client standards using Sabre GDS. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a federal contract environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience with GDS Sabre (Sabre) across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship required for Federal Government contract.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong teamwork and a can-do attitude.
• TEC I applications accepted.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel for corporate customers (air, road, rail, and accommodations).
• Ensure reservations meet client standards and preferences.
• Act as a trusted advisor with informed recommendations for the traveler experience.
• Handle bookings from simple to complex with multi-destinations and complex fares.
• Make changes or resolve issues during or before travel assignments.
• Conduct analysis of travel options and proactively upsell additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and respond to special requests.
• Utilize Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre.
• This position primarily supports phone-based interactions.

As a Travel Consultant, you will provide outstanding customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after their business trips. What You’ll Do

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences
• Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best traveler experience
• Handle a wide range of bookings from simple ones to complex bookings with potentially non-standard and multi-destinations, ticket exchanges, and complex fares
• Make changes or solve any issues that might occur during or before the travel assignments including both routine and non-routine work
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre usage
• This position supports mainly phones

What We’re Looking For

• 3 or more years’ experience working as a Travel Consultant
• Experience in GDS (Sabre) across both local and global markets
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract

The US national base salary range for this position is from $36000 - $79000 Annually.
