American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) is hiring a Travel Consultant for the U.S. Military and Government team, based in Fort Meade, MD. You will book domestic and international business travel, work mainly on phones, and provide exceptional customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after trips.

Required are 3+ years as a Travel Consultant and GDS Sabre experience. A U.S.

• Experience using GDS Sabre in local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract.

Responsabilités

• Arrange and book domestic and international travel for air, rail, and hotels for corporate customers.
• Ensure reservations follow client standards and preferences.
• Act as a trusted advisor with informed recommendations for best traveler experience.
• Handle bookings from simple to complex, including multi-destinations and fare changes.
• Make changes or resolve issues during or after travel assignments.
• Research travel options and proactively suggest additional services to travelers.
• Use positive telephone service techniques to handle special requests.

In this role, you’ll join our U.S. Military and Government team, specializing in seamless travel management services to our federal clients. As a Travel Consultant, you will provide outstanding customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after their business trips. This role is for CWT Defense & Government within CWT, a member of the American Express Global Business Travel family of companies.

What You’ll Do

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences
• Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best traveler experience
• Handle a wide range of bookings from simple ones to complex bookings with potentially non-standard and multi-destinations, ticket exchanges, and complex fares
• Make changes or solve any issues that might occur during or before the travel assignments including both routine and non-routine work
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre usage
• This position supports mainly phones

What We’re Looking For

• 3 or more years’ experience working as a Travel Consultant
• Experience in GDS (Sabre) across both local and global markets
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract
• A genuine passion for high-quality customer service — we care about our customers and it’s important to us that you do
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• A positive, “can do” attitude. Willingness to learn and grow! We accept TEC I applications too

The US national base salary range for this position is from $36000 - $79000 Annually. The national range provided includes the base salary that the company expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
