Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Consultant to support Defense & Government travelers in Fort Bliss, TX. You will arrange domestic and international travel, manage complex bookings, and ensure adherence to client standards for federal clients.

We require at least 3 years in travel consulting, Sabre GDS experience, and strong communication and teamwork. US citizenship is required due to federal contracts; all applicants are considered equally.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience using Sabre GDS across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract.
• Passion for high-quality customer service and client satisfaction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive, "can do" attitude with willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international travel for air, rail, road, and accommodations for corporate travelers (individuals and groups).
• Ensure reservations align with client standards and preferences.
• Act as trusted advisor by offering informed recommendations that improve traveler experience.
• Handle a range of bookings from simple to complex, including multi-destinations and fare changes.
• Make changes or resolve issues during or before travel assignments, including routine and non-routine tasks.
• Conduct analysis on travel options and proactively identify opportunities to sell additional services.
• Respond to inquiries via phone and walk-ins; utilize positive service techniques.
• Support mainly phones and walk-ins while using Sabre GDS.

As a Travel Consultant, you will provide outstanding customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after their business trips. What You’ll Do

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences
• Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best traveler experience
• Handle a wide range of bookings from simple ones to complex bookings with potentially non-standard and multi-destinations, ticket exchanges, and complex fares
• Make changes or solve any issues that might occur during or before the travel assignments including both routine and non-routine work
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre usage
• This position supports mainly phones and walk ins.

What We’re Looking For

• 3 or more years' experience working as a Travel Consultant
• Experience in GDS (Sabre) across both local and global markets
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract
• A genuine passion for high-quality customer service — we care about our customers and it’s important to us that you do
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• A positive, “can do” attitude.

The US national base salary range for this position is from $36000 - $79000 Annually.

The national range provided includes the base salary that the company expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
