Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an EP/Cath Lab Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Alaska. Requires 2+ years of EP/Cath Lab experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and Epic charting proficiency.

On-site travel assignment with a demanding schedule, including on-call and holiday shifts. Responsibilities include diagnostic/interventional cardiac catheterization, IABP/Impella support, neurointervention, and CRM device implants, using Philips X-ray, McKesson Cath Lab, and

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of EP and Cath Lab experience.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Valid state license required if applicable.
Epic charting experience required.
Skilled in EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
Experience with cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and AICD insertion/programming.
Copies of certifications, 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years, SSN, and DOB required.

Responsibilities

Work in the Electrophysiology and Cardiac Cath Lab department of an acute care hospital.
Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, STEMI response, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, and structural heart procedures.
Interventional radiology procedures including lines, drains, embolizations, and stroke thrombectomy.
Neurointervention and CRM device implant procedures.
Uses Philips X-ray system, McKesson for Cath Lab, and MacLab/Cardio Lab for EP.
Epic EMR used for charting.
4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including some Saturdays as part of the regular schedule.
On-call required from 6-8 PM on days already worked; late call-backs after leaving are rare.
May float within scope to other units or affiliate facilities near the hospital as needed.
Perform procedural responsibilities including equipment setup, accurate monitoring, and maintaining a sterile field during cases.
Scrubs provided.
Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Facility is a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska.
Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler.
Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year per assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return to the same facility.
Only Hepatitis B vaccination is accepted; titers or declinations are not permitted.
RTO must be submitted and approved individually at time of offer.
