Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience for a progressive cardiac, peripheral vascular, EP, and IR program.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, EP studies, and IR procedures with a focus on STEMI care; EP mapping, device implants, and vascular access. Travel assignment with varied shifts and on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required; first-time travelers not considered
• ACLS, BLS, and ARRT(R) certifications required
• LSRTBE State License required if applicable
• CCI RCIS certification preferred
• EP and IR experience preferred
• Peripheral vascular and Cath Lab experience required
• Experience with embolizations, coiling, ablations, and implants (ports, pacemakers, ICDs)
• Proficiency with Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser atherectomy, and thrombectomy devices
• Strong STEMI experience with FTB/DTB times under 60 minutes
• Ability to perform peripheral vascular and EP procedures independently
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required

Responsibilities

• Work in a progressive lab performing cardiac, peripheral vascular, EP, and IR procedures
• Average daily census of 6 patients
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Call required up to 3 times per week, including every other weekend, with a 30-minute response time
• Weekday call is 3 days per week when not on weekend call, or 2 days per week when assigned weekend call
• Uses Siemens and Canon imaging systems along with Impella, IABP, Inari, EKOS, AngioJet, Rotoblator, Shockwave, Diamondback, Medrad, and ACIST equipment
• Epic EMR with Cupid documentation required
• High-performing Code STEMI team with best-in-system Door-to-Balloon times
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, EP studies, and interventional radiology procedures
• Responsibilities include vascular access, port and central line management, EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, and recognition of life‑threatening arrhythmias
• Perform procedures such as PCI, PTCA, IABP and Impella placement/removal, pacemaker and AICD insertion, cardiac mapping, and cardioversion
• Perform peripheral and neurological vascular procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and embolization
• Perform genitourinary procedures such as nephrostomy, renal artery stenting, and catheter/drain exchange
• Must work independently across all Cath Lab procedures with a patient-first, team-oriented mindset
• Willing to share knowledge and support colleagues
• Orientation held five days per week
• Candidates must live 65+ miles from the facility, as local travelers are not accepted
• RTO must be discussed and finalized prior to interview to avoid offer complications
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house contractors must have been separated from the facility for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
