Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in RI is required.
• Knowledge and skills to provide care across the life span, including aging processes and cultural patterns.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads and delegates nursing activities; supervises ancillary personnel.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community services for discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains credentialing, safety education and basic life support per standards.
• Acts as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
