Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads and delegates safe nursing care by supervising ancillary personnel.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains clinical competencies and completes BLS and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibility for the patient care unit as delegated.
